Disc harrows
Disc harrows are multifunctional machines. They are used primarily for shallow post-harvest cultivation, but can also be successfully used for presowing after plowing, destroying catch crops or transforming wasteland into arable land. The disc harrow consists of two rows of discs and a roller located at the rear, which is designed to catch up the cut crop residues or to compact the soil for sowing. Disc units are characterized by relatively low power requirements for the work they do, as a 2.5-meter-wide disc unit can be operated with a tractor as small as 80 horsepower. It is certainly one of the basic machines on any farm, even a small one.
Disc aggregates – operating parameters
Certainly the biggest advantage of disc harrows is their low power requirement, but a disc harrow also needs sufficient speed to mix residues well with the soil or cut after crop. It is generally accepted that the optimum speed for disc harrow work ranges from a minimum of 10 km/h to 15 km/h. The depth range for working with a disc harrow varies greatly. It depends primarily on the weight of our machine. AGROLAND disc harrows are designed to work at depths ranging from 5 to even 20 cm, with the optimal working depth for adequate mixing of crop residues ranging from 5 to 10 cm. This depth of work allows sufficient loosening of the top layer of soil while not drying it out too much. It also allows the germination of volunteer weeds, cereals or the proper mixing of stubble intercrop or manure with the soil.
Disc machines – types
We can divide disc harrows into different types depending on their configuration and construction. We can distinguish between several main types of disc harrows, such as: disc harrows for shallow post-harvest cultivation, disc harrows for pre-sowing cultivation and disc harrows with spring-loaded pillars, which perform much better in difficult conditions or on stony fields. Disc harrows for pre-sowing tillage usually have a smaller spacing between disc rows and a special hitch (HYDROPAK) for attaching a grain drill behind the harrow. Disc harrows for shallow tillage can also be divided into several types, while the differences in their appearance are not apparent at first glance. They differ primarily in the angle of attack of the discs relative to the ground
Manufacturer of disc harrows – AGROLAND
AGROLAND Skomlin is a manufacturer of agricultural machinery, mainly tillage equipment, including the previously mentioned disc harrows. We offer disc harrows from small ones for weaker tractors (TITANUM LIGHT) through standard harrows for shallow post-harvest tillage (TITANUM STANDARD, TITANUM HEAVY), disc harrows on a spring post (VIBROCUT), disc harrows with HYDROPACK (TITANUM LIGHT MULTIPACK), ending with really large and heavy disc harrows that need bigger workhorses such as BORAZON or AERAL with widths up to 10m. Each of our disc harrows is equipped with a maintenance-free hub housing and toothed discs with diameters ranging from 560 to 630 mm. AGROLAND, as a manufacturer of disc harrows, has developed a solid position on the domestic and foreign markets. Our machines perform well on all types of soils, from sandy to heavy and fertile black soil.
