Subsoiling is one of the most important agrotechnical treatments, which unfortunately is often overlooked by farmers. Subsoiling once every 3-4 years allows plants to develop a strong and healthy root system, which enables them to absorb nutrients from deeper soil layers. More and more subsoilers are appearing on the agricultural machinery market. Which one should you choose for your soil? Read our article to find out!
AGROLAND TYTAN subsoiling machine
AGROLAND TYTAN subsoiling machine is available in working widths of 2 and 3 meters. It is equipped with straight tines on a breakaway protection system. The effective working depth of the machine ranges from 30 to 50 cm into the soil profile at a speed of 6 to 8 km/h. The straight tines are designed to break up the plow pan and create a channel deep in the soil, which will act as a kind of “water reservoir.” Breaking up the plow pan loosens the soil, which promotes the development of the roots of the subsequent crop. The 3-meter version of the AGROLAND TYTAN subsoiler requires a tractor with a power of 180 to 240 horsepower, depending on the type of soil, for effective operation.
AGROLAND TYTAN PLOW subsoiling machine
AGROLAND TYTAN PLOW subsoiling machine is also available in working widths of 2 and 3 meters. The machine is equipped with MICHEL-type profiled tines on a breakaway protection system. Optionally, the machine can be equipped with NON-STOP hydraulic protection (TYTAN PLOW PLUS). Thanks to the use of profiled tines, the soil is completely lifted, creating a “wave” effect behind the tractor in the field. The machine works perfectly on heavily compacted, sealed soils. The “wave” effect allows a large amount of air to enter the soil, which loosens it and makes it easier to cultivate later. AGROLAND TYTAN PLOW works most effectively at speeds of 6 to 8 km/h. The working depth ranges from 30 to 55 cm. Profiled MICHEL-type coulters offer much less resistance to the tractor than straight coulters, so depending on the type of soil, a tractor with 160 to 220 horsepower is required to operate the 3-meter machine. AGROLAND MAHIT subsoiling machine
AGROLAND MAHIT subsoiling machine is a machine available in working widths of 2.5 and 3 meters. Due to its operating characteristics, it can be classified as a subsoiling machine. The AGROLAND MAHIT chisel plow is a machine equipped with straight coulters on a breakaway protection system with side cutters, adapted to work at a depth of 25 to 50 cm. The best results are achieved at a working speed of approximately 8 km/h. Optionally, the machine can be equipped with a NON STOP hydraulic safety device (MAHIT PLUS). Thanks to the use of side cutters, the machine can be used in a no-till cultivation system. The side cutters lift and mix the soil, creating an effect similar to that of a standard plow. The double spike roller mounted behind the machine pre-compacts the loosened soil, preparing it for sowing. The downside of the machine is its power requirement, because for a 3-meter machine, depending on the type of soil we are working on, we need a tractor with a power of 220 to even 300 horsepower. The AGROLAND MAHIT chisel plow works well on all types of soil. It loosens and mixes the soil throughout the entire soil profile, extracting nutrients from deeper layers.
